TrackMan vs Foresight: Which Golf Simulator Is Better?

Redswing Team

March 15, 2026

When it comes to premium golf simulators, two names dominate the conversation: TrackMan and Foresight Sports. Both offer exceptional accuracy and realistic gameplay, but they take different approaches. Here's how they compare.

Tracking Technology

TrackMan uses dual radar technology (Doppler radar) to track the ball from impact through its full flight. This gives incredibly accurate ball flight data and is the standard on professional tours worldwide.

Foresight uses high-speed camera-based technology (photometric) to capture the ball at impact. Their GCQuad and GC3 launch monitors photograph the ball and club at the moment of impact, providing detailed spin and launch data.

Winner: Both are excellent. TrackMan edges out in ball flight tracking, while Foresight provides slightly more detailed impact data. For simulator use, the difference is negligible.

Course Library

TrackMan offers 450+ courses and adds new ones regularly. Their library includes iconic venues like St Andrews, PGA National, Valderrama, and many more. Courses are rendered with stunning detail.

Foresight (FSX Play) offers a growing library of courses with realistic graphics. While the library is smaller than some competitors, the quality of each course is very high.

Winner: TrackMan has the larger library, but course count matters less than course quality for most players.

Pricing

TrackMan: The TrackMan 4 (indoor/outdoor) retails for approximately $25,000-$30,000. The newer TrackMan iO (indoor-only) is around $10,000-$15,000. Software subscriptions run $1,000-$2,000 per year.

Foresight: The GCQuad retails for around $12,000-$15,000, while the GC3 comes in at approximately $5,000-$7,000. Software subscriptions vary but are generally in the $500-$1,500 per year range.

Winner: Foresight offers better value at lower price points. TrackMan commands a premium for its radar technology and tour pedigree.

Accuracy

Both systems are used by PGA Tour professionals and are considered the gold standard for launch monitor accuracy. In controlled testing, both consistently deliver ball speed accuracy within 1 mph and spin rate accuracy within 200 rpm.

Winner: Tie. Both are exceptional.

Software Experience

TrackMan has a polished, tour-proven interface with detailed practice modes, skill assessments, and multiplayer functionality.

Foresight FSX Play offers a more customizable experience with various game modes and practice tools. The interface is modern and user-friendly.

Winner: Personal preference. TrackMan feels more "professional," while Foresight feels more accessible.

The Bottom Line

If budget is no concern and you want the technology used on the PGA Tour, go with TrackMan. If you want excellent accuracy at a lower price point with great versatility, Foresight is the smart choice.

For most indoor golf enthusiasts, either platform will deliver an outstanding experience. The more important question is which facilities near you have the platform you prefer — and you can find out by browsing facilities on Redswing.
