Text-message consent (TCPA)
Redswing only texts golfers who opted in — consent is captured at registration.
By law (the TCPA), you can only text people who've agreed to it. Redswing handles this for you: the registration form includes a consent checkbox — "I consent to receive SMS text messages from the event organizer about scoring updates, event logistics, and hole-in-one alerts… Reply STOP to opt out at any time."
Every batch text — scoring links, announcements, outbid alerts, hole-in-one alerts — only goes to players who consented. Anyone who didn't opt in is never contacted, so you're covered automatically.
This consent requirement can't be turned off — it's a legal protection for your organization, not a setting.
