Scoring links aren't going out to players

When scoring links do not seem to be reaching players across the board, this is the bulk version of a single missing link and the same checks apply at scale.

Overview

Scoring links go out by text to players who have SMS consent on, using the event's configured SMS sender. When a whole batch looks like it did not arrive, the cause is usually that many players have consent off, SMS is not configured for the event, or a chunk of numbers cannot receive texts. You always have direct-share fallbacks so the event never stalls.

How to fix it

  1. Treat this as the bulk version of a single missing scoring link, so the same root causes apply to many players at once.
  2. Check that players have SMS consent on. Only consented players are texted, per TCPA, so anyone with consent off was never sent a link.
  3. Confirm SMS is configured for the event so texts can be sent at all.
  4. Resend in bulk from Dashboard → Events → [Event] → Communications.
  5. Remember that landline and VoIP numbers cannot receive texts, so those players will need the link shared another way.
  6. As a fallback, share the public event page, or copy individual scoring links and send them by email or iMessage.

Things to know

  • Players with consent off are skipped by design, so a large skipped group usually means consent, not a failure.
  • SMS runs at $0.02 per message, capped at $25 per event, so bulk sends stay inexpensive.
  • Landline and VoIP numbers will quietly fail to receive texts no matter how many times you resend.
  • The public event page works as a universal fallback when texting is not an option.

Still stuck?

Open the chat assistant — the red Ask AI button in your dashboard — and it can look up the player, check delivery logs, and resend links for you. On event day, use the emergency contact button to reach Jeanine directly.
